Radio Silence and the 2019 Season

Original Post Date July 2, 2019

I imagine, dear reader, that you are wondering where the last year has gone, why you've heard nothing from us on the blog since August of 2018, and just what on earth happened to weekly blog posts, recipes, tips, and that famed Silver Queen Corn.

Allow me to introduce first and foremost, the reason for my radio silence on the blog and the lack of corn. We welcomed her in December six weeks earlier than she was expected and have been playing catch up ever since.

Allow me to introduce first and foremost, the reason for my radio silence on the blog and the lack of corn. We welcomed her in December six weeks earlier than she was expected and have been playing catch up ever since.

She's six months old now, starting to have some serious opinions and, in combination with her four year old brother, are both the joy of our lives and the reason I have fallen behind on pretty much everything. We continue to thank you for your patience while we adjust to our new normal and the chaos that is two children under the age of 5

Our 2019 season has kicked off to a heck of a start too. We have barely put anything in the ground, we started a bit late with the chickens and the summer season is FLYING by! For those of you anticipating and waiting patiently for chicken, we will be fully stocked again as of July 13, 2019. We thank you for being so patient and such wonderful customers, we sold out much more quickly than we anticipated and had a slight gap in our processing schedule.

Bulk Natural Foods

We are also happy to announce that we have partnered with Bulk Natural Foods to be a host site. Bulk Natural buys directly from orchards and growers all over the United States and brings the savings directly to the consumer. They allow you to buy produce in large quantities at low prices in season. Most of these orchards are organic, using integrated pest management techniques to bring high quality produce directly to our door. If you don't want to commit to the full amount in a bushel or box, pair up with a friend to split it with! We buy all of the seasonal fruit that we don't grow ourselves from Bulk Natural. Their quality it exceptional and they are fantastic about fixing any problems that may occur. When ordering choose the Chapel Hill (Fender) location. If you know you won't be able to make the pick up times, don't worry! We receive the orders very early in the morning. I am always happy to make alternative arrangements from different times, to pick up at the market or even delivery.

Farmer's Markets, Delivery, and a Web store - OH MY!

Our web store is officially open! We have a new platform that allows you to pre-order your chicken, eggs, jams and jellies for pick up by paying a deposit. We will then adjust your total to the final weight of your order. We keep a full inventory stock list on our site now, so if it's listed there, we have it and you can order it. We have pick ups weekly in Spring Hill and Chapel Hill as well as delivery and farm pick up options. These are exciting improvements for us, it allows us to bring our farm fresh products to our local community more easily and more efficiently.

Also new for this 2019 season - Farmer's Market! We are thrilled to be a part of the Henry Horton Saturday Morning Market. Come see us! We LOVE to meet new people. We have information on our chicken and a wide selection of our jams, jellies, pie fillings and syrups that changes weekly with the season. We will also have some limited produce (WILD BLACKBERRIES ARE RIPE) and freshly baked breads, cookies and even sweet rolls. As the summer continues on, we may have a small selection of crafts and hand made items as well. The selection changes weekly, so visit us often!
